Physiotherapist
Jordan Rankin
Jordan graduated from the University of Alberta where she earned her Master of Physical Therapy. She previous received her Bachelor of Health and Physical Education from Mount Royal University. She moved to Calgary to play university hockey and has since made Calgary home. Rehabbing various injuries throughout her athletic career helped her find her calling in physiotherapy.
She believes optimal rehabilitation involves thorough education, a customized exercise program to maximize tissue resilience, manual therapy, evidence-based research, and actively involving the patient in their rehabilitation journey.
Outside of her career she enjoys staying active through various activities such as hockey, hiking, snowshoeing, yoga, and kayaking. She was previously a competitive swimmer, soccer player, basketball player, and track and field athlete.
Jordan is most interested in manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and chronic pain management, but enjoys all forms of physiotherapy in injury rehabilitation.
Additional certifications: IMS/Dry needling, Mulligan, Orthopaedic courses, advanced hip courses.
Client Responsibilities/Code of Conduct
The follow are requirements in place for Discovery Rehab for in home physiotherapy care. Please review carefully before booking. Upon booking your appointment the assumptions has been made you have reviewed and agreed to these requirements (You will need to answer YES or NO in the questions below upon booking). If you answer NO, the physiotherapist will be unable to book an appointment for you as these are mandatory.
1) Cancellation policy: Discovery Rehab requires 24 hours minimum for cancellation of appointments. If appointments are cancelled less than 24 hours 1/2 the booking fee will be charged to the patient. If a patient is not in their home at the start time of their scheduled appointment (15 minute grace period allowed) then the patient will be charged full amount. This is considered a no show.
2) Credit card information: Patient will need to provide credit card information upon confirmation of booking. Payment will need to be received prior to session (If paying by card a link will be sent via the SQAURE app, etransfer and cash payment is also available. Receipt will be emailed within 24 hours of session. If appointment is cancelled <24 hours the owner has the right to charge the credit card provided ( as stated above in 1) Cancellation Policy ). The patient can pay in cash but will need to let the physiotherapist know before the session. The physiotherapist will be unable to provide change.
2) Safety: Please make sure the home is safe for the physiotherapist to enter. This includes no clutter, clean, animals put away in separate areas and window must be in room. If these conditions are not met the physiotherapist will make suggestions on how to fix the safety hazard. If these conditions still cannot be met and the physiotherapist deems the home as not safe they can refuse service and terminate the session. A $60 fee will be charged to the client in this case to cover lost wage.
3) No Direct Billing: At this time we are unable to offer direct billing. At this time the client will need to pay and submit to their insurance for reimbursement.
4) Liability: In the rare event, if the patient's home suffers physical damage to the home/property/items while the physiotherapist is there treating, (either direct or indirect cause) they agree not to hold the physiotherapist liable for these damages. The patient agreed to assume 100% of this risk.
5) Respect: Please be respectful of the physiotherapist and the equipment they bring with them. :)
